Cameron Wendt I am an entrepreneur who founded Vinehub. This project was a concept of mine that my staff and I built over two years and eventually sold. I am now the CBDO of Splitcast Inc in Silicon Valley, and enjoy my role in such an innovative company.
I watch Lost, House, Fringe, Game of Thrones, Mad Men, Family Guy, Band of Brothers, The Borgias and The Office.
Some of my favorite movies are Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones, V for Vendetta, Bourne series, Due Date and so many more.
I have an eclectic taste in music. My violin background means I have a love of anything classical. Otherwise, I enjoy Muse, the Black Keys, One Republic, Fun, AC/DC and just about anything other than rap or country.
Reading is one of my passions. I love Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Clive Cussler Steve Berry, Jack Du Brul and any of the classic pieces of literature.
As a photographer, I mostly shoot nature and cities. Occasionally I will photograph people as well.
My Blog // Technology is my primary topic. I also share thoughts on startups, photography and general personal reflections.
When I moved to California from Michigan, I was excited to have new internet options for my apartment. My first thought was, “Fiber!” so I tried AT&T Uverse. The service wasn’t quite what I expected. It turns out that the Uverse network is better suited to TV than internet. The speeds were fairly stable, although typically slower than Cable options. On the other hand, many other users report that interleaving and routing add +20ms to just about everything I connect to. The upstream/downstream ratio was horrible too- 18 down 1 up at my location. Since my work involves regular uploading, it wasn’t a good fit in general.
In the past, my experience with Comcast also wasn’t great. My co-workers live in the same complex though, and had good luck with a purchased modem and their higher speed service. After some reoccurring packet loss episodes with Uverse, I finally decided to cancel the service and try Xfinity. After a month, I can see the benefits to both services. Uverse has much better TV options, but Xfinity internet is actually faster with a good DOCSIS3 modem. I still get occasional packet loss episodes with Comcast, but I may just need to buy a better modem than the one I lease.
It turns out that Uverse wasn’t done with me yet though. Apparently you have to ask for them to turn off auto billing when you cancel your account. The final month is only a partial payment, but unless you specify otherwise ATT will bill you the entire amount and then credit you the difference via check in 45 days. I was really frustrated since I was told an invoice would be sent with the final bill, but I was charged instead.
So, my advice to gamers or heavy users who care less about TV… avoid ATT Uverse.
Its official name is the North American International Auto Show, but most know it as the Detroit auto show. It happens every year in early January and with as many as 50 new production and concept cars making their debut, the Detroit auto show is the premiere car show in the world. The first Detroit auto show, sponsored by the Detroit Auto Dealers Association, was held back in the days of the Model T, in 1907 at a beer garden in Detroit. A total of 33 vehicles was shown by 17 exhibitors. My family attends each year as our own tradition, and have a special arrangement to get in the show before the crowds. This gives me a chance to get in any car, and take some awesome photos. This year didn’t disappoint, with some incredible new models and concept cars. My brother and I were hurrying to see everything, so I didn’t get as many photos as normal. Take a look at those I did manage to snap though!
Introduction:
I’ve been playing World of Tanks since the very early beta. In two years, I have acquired a fair amount of knowledge about the gameplay. In an effort to share this with new or otherwise interested players, I have composed this guide. Please take this all as my own personal suggestions, and not the de facto standard as it all reflects my own playing style.
Know your role:
The biggest idea that I see players struggling to understand is the role of each tank. Last night we had a light tank sitting in our main base “Defending the arty”. If tanks don’t understand the strengths and weaknesses and play as they are intended, you will almost certainly lose.
